Overview

Designed for the candidate with a goal of a career in academic urology, our fellowship offers a comprehensive training in advanced urologic surgery and multi-disciplinary care of the cancer patient. We are fortunate to have a very strong relationship with our colleagues in radiation oncology, medical oncology, radiology, and pathology. This relationship has fostered a very productive clinical and academic track record. Our fellows perform the most complex procedures at our internationally recognized referral center. The fellows also work closely in the multi-disciplinary care of our patients. With rotations in radiation oncology and medical oncology, the fellows become expert in these disciplines. In addition, the fellows work in an active clinical trial center where they become familiar with the design and conduct of clinical research.

In the area of research, the Massachusetts General Hospital is the highest-funded hospital in the country for NIH-sponsored research. The opportunities for investigation and collaboration are innumerable. The fellows work closely with scientists in a wide range of interesting disciplines.

The program is one in which the motivated applicant will lay the solid foundation for a productive career as an academic urologic surgeon.
