Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic autoimmune disease seen in up to 1% of the United States population. While it commonly affects the small joints in the hands and feet, it can also affect larger joints. This talk will explore the science behind rheumatoid arthritis, the symptoms that patients with this disease experience, how it affects patients and their families, the importance of early treatment, and advances in medications to treat it.
