Since the 21st century in the United States, evidence has shown an increasing trend in problematic alcohol use and alcohol use disorders, most notably in older adults. This presentation by the Mass General Blum Center, reviews the epidemiology, socioeconomics and neurocognitive impact of alcohol use disorders in the Baby Boomer generation. Significant U.S. health care system concerns as this population continues to age and increase in numbers are discussed.
