In this Massachusetts General Hospital Blum Center presentation from July 18, 2022, Suellen Breakey, PhD, RN, and Patrice Nicholas, DNSc, DHL (Hon), MPH, MS, RN, NP-C, FAAN, provide an overview of heat-related illness in our climate-changing world. They review the impact of extreme heat, risk factors, signs and symptoms, treatment options, and ways to prevent a heat-related illness. People at higher risk for heat-related illness including pregnant people, older adults, children, and people of color are also discussed.
