About Richard Newcomb, MD
Richard Newcomb grew up in Dallas, Texas and attended Harvard College for undergrad and University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine for medical school. He then completed his internal medicine residency at MGH in 2020 and subsequently joined the Dana Farber Cancer Institute – Massachusetts General Hospital Hematology and Oncology Fellowship Program. He is currently serving as Chief Resident in the MGH Department of Medicine.
At CORE (Cancer Outcomes Research and Education Program), Richard works with Dr. Areej El-Jawahri and is passionate about improving the quality of life of those with malignant and benign hematologic diseases. Richard loves data analysis, conducts patient centered health services research, and plans to pursue a career in stem cell transplantation.
Away from the hospital, he loves adventuring in New England with his wife and 2 year old son, enjoys the restaurant scene in Union Square, and is a diehard NBA fan.
