Mass General Cancer Center’s Dr. Jennifer Temel, Clinical Director of Thoracic Oncology, discusses what patients can expect during a multidisciplinary appointment. In the video below, Dr. Temel explains to 98.5 The Sports Hub's Bob Socci that the care team – including lung cancer specialists in nursing, medical oncology, radiation oncology, thoracic surgery, pathology; and radiology -- see patients in a single location. Each specialist meets with the patient and then meets with other members of the team to review data and make the best recommendation. Patients leave their first appointment knowing what their plan is and what to expect next.
