Common BED treatments can include:
Meetings with a dietitian, primary care provider and other specialists
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Therapy that focuses on how thoughts and feelings affect behavior.
Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT). Therapy that focuses on your relationship with your self-image.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Therapy focused on learning healthy coping skills and understanding emotions.
Group therapy with others who also struggle with BED
Medications to treat medical or mental health conditions, including antidepressants (such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs), topiramate (an anti-seizure medication) or lisdexamfetamine (a stimulant medication).
