The mission of the Family Support Network at MGH, developed in partnership with the David Ortiz Children’s Fund, is to provide a safe and supportive environment for patients and families with a network of similarly situated individuals to share their personal experiences, express emotions, and offer one another emotional comfort and moral support. As part of this group, families also have the opportunity to receive practical advice and learn coping skills to help manage challenging situations.
Groups meet for 1 hour (virtually) and are co-led by a behavioral health psychologist, Dr. Katia Canenguez, and a parent with lived experience, Jessica Nigrelli.
