Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA): Symptoms

What are the symptoms of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA)?

Symptoms depend on your child’s age and which type of SMA he has.

The most common symptoms of SMA are:

Muscle weakness
Delayed milestones (in babies)
Trouble using certain muscles or limbs (in children, teens and adults)
