About David Sosnovik, MD
Dr Sosnovik is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and an Attending Cardiologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital. His clinical interests lie in general cardiology, heart failure, valvular and congenital heart disease. Dr Sosnovik's principal research interests lie in the development of novel cardiac imaging modalities. Prior to coming to the MGH to begin his cardiology fellowship, he spent several years as a research fellow in the department of Physics at Washington University. After completing his general cardiology training at MGH, Dr Sosnovik pursued advanced training in cardiovascular MRI at the MGH. He also trained in two large research centers at the MGH: The Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging and the Center for Molecular Imaging Research.
Dr Sosnovik is currently the Director of the Program in Cardiovascular Imaging in the MGH-MIT Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging. His research focuses on molecular imaging, diffusion MRI of the myocardium, high field MRI, the development of new contrast mechanisms and rapid imaging techniques, and novel platforms for advanced imaging in humans. Dr Sosnovik has published over 90 papers in these fields and has been continuously funded by the national institutes of health (NIH) for over 10 years. He is a member of the affiliated faculty in the Harvard-MIT division of Health Sciences and Technology (HST) and plays an active role in teaching in both the MIT and Harvard communities.
