James is a board-certified internist whose clinical interests are in health communication, cardiovascular prevention, care transition, and evidence-based medicine.  He completed his residency and medicine fellowship at Cambridge Health Alliance and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He was actively involved in medical education including teaching and precepting of residents and medical students both at BWH and Harvard Medical School, where he had received a number of teaching awards.  He recently joined Bulfinch Medical Group/MGH and also continues to precept residents.  James is an author and editor for a number of books used widely by medical students and trainees and has published in a number of medical journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA Internal Medicine, and the Journal of Graduate Medical Education.  He is married and enjoys traveling, outdoors, and cooking with his family.
