The Bastepe Lab investigates the pathophysiology of human disorders caused by alterations in G protein signaling and GPCR actions. We are primarily interested in endocrine and musculoskeletal diseases.
Using molecular genetics and a wide range of in vitro and in vivo technologies, our studies currently focus on the GNAS complex locus, an imprinted gene giving rise to the alpha-subunit of the stimulatory G protein (Gsα) and multiple other monoallelically expressed transcripts and proteins, such as XLαs.
Our research projects are detailed here.
