Prioritizing Climate Health and Equity in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)

Joe McCannon will describe the work of the HHS Office of Climate Change and Health Equity and how it seeks to mobilize HHS agencies and the health sector more broadly to prioritize climate resilience and sustainability. In particular, he will talk in detail about the historic opportunities created by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) which, through a combination of tax credits, grants and other supports, allows for major investments in clean energy, building efficiency and facility infrastructure in healthcare organizations across the country.
