About David  Edwards, PhD

David Edwards, PhD, is a Professor at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, a Wyss Institute founding faculty member, inventor and pioneer of drug, nutrition and sensorial delivery. He has published widely in applied math and founded various companies including Advanced Inhalation Research (AIR) to deliver insulin by inhalation with large porous particles, Medicine in Need (MEND) to deliver vaccines and drugs to the lungs for TB, AeroDesigns to deliver food through the air for improved nutrition, and WikiFood, edible packaging for better health and sustainability.

His current work pioneers a new platform for digitizing scent for health care and broad consumer practice. David Edwards' public lab, Le Laboratoire and his experimental restaurant, Café ArtScience, are original public spaces where his work in sensorial design explores the boundaries between human health care and consumer practice. He has won many national and international awards and is a member of US and French National Academies.
