More than 150 runners –representing three MGH marathon teams – were among the 30,000 athletes who took on the 123rd Boston Marathon April 15. Motivated marathoners representing the Pediatric Cancer Team, the Emergency Response Team and – new this year – the Home Base Team have raised more than $1.5 million, with donations still streaming in. Additionally, runners in support of Run for MGH – which raises funds for Caring for a Cure, cystic fibrosis, Down syndrome, the Lurie Center for Autism, and the Mootha Lab – also have raised more than $282,000 for those hospital programs close to their hearts.
