Scheduling Appointments

Appointments and referral requests for existing patients may be made by calling the office telephone number of your provider at Massachusetts General Medical Group (MGMG), or you can leave a message for your provider's administrative coordinator via Mass General Brigham Patient Gateway.

A reminder letter will be sent out two weeks prior to your scheduled appointment with your primary care physician or nurse practitioner. You will receive a follow up reminder phone call within 72 hours of your scheduled visit.

Urgent Care

At MGMG, we offer our existing patients same-day appointments. Whether you are not feeling well or have an injury, MGMG is staffed with your Primary Care Physician and their colleagues of physicians, nurses, and nurse practitioners who are available to help.

To schedule urgent care or same-day appointments, please call MGMG at 617-724-8050 and speak to one of our staff members who will help schedule a same day appointment at a convenient time between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. MGMG is committed to seeing all its patients in a timely manner.

Patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries should go immediately to the Emergency Room or dial 911.

Referrals

Your primary care physician is responsible for arranging all of your medical care, including referrals to specialists. If you think you require the care of a specialist, please speak to your physician for the appropriate referral.

Prescription Refills

Current patients can request prescription refills online using Patient Gateway or by calling their physician’s phone number and choosing option 4 on the phone menu for the automated prescription refill line. Requests received on this line between 8:30 am on Monday and noon on Friday will be completed within 48 hours.
