Vascular & Endovascular Surgery Research
Our physician-scientists bring solutions to complex questions, from the lab to the bedside
Our research team, made up of physicians, nurses and research coordinators, conducts innovative laboratory and clinical research to identify novel treatments and diagnostic testing. Our clinical research team focuses on the evaluation of investigational and post-market treatments, while our outcomes research team collaborates with professional organizations to promote the development, analysis and dissemination of evidence-based practices—all to improve vascular care.
Qualified patients have the opportunity to participate in a research study or clinical trials that are actively recruiting patient enrollment.

Specialized Endovascular Repair for Complex Aortic Pathology
Endovascular treatment involves surgically placing a stent graft to support a damaged aorta. Due to vascular anatomy, commercially available grafts are sometimes unable to be used. To bridge this gap, Mass General researchers are conducting a study to evaluate custom-made endovascular stent grafts.
Coagulation Lab Seeks to Customize Therapy
Individual blood components can increase the likelihood of developing a clot. Blood vessels blocked by clot may require further vascular repair. Mass General researchers are conducting a study to learn more about patient blood clotting profiles and predicting risks associated with clot.
Our providers expertly treat patients with vascular disease through evidence-based approaches and performing minimally invasive, endovascular, surgical methods.
