At the Autism Insurance Resource Center, we help thousands of families each year, and sometimes there are people who call us right after they get diagnosed. I know that feeling. That knife goes through my heart every time. They just want help with insurance, which we’re happy to help them with. When my daughter was diagnosed, nobody told me to go figure out my insurance because autism services weren’t covered. Through our advocacy work for an autism insurance law, families of children with autism can now access treatments in a way that has the potential to make a really big difference in their children’s lives. That’s what keeps me going.

This Is Me

In celebration of our community’s diverse abilities, we present the This Is Me exhibit. This Is Me amplifies the voices of individuals living with disabilities and chronic health conditions, caregivers and disability rights activists.
