Let Massachusetts General Hospital come to you with one of our bloodmobiles.
MGH Bloodmobiles are state of the art, completely self-contained and self-supporting 40-foot long buses. Inside are two soundproof medical history booths, four blood donation beds and a refreshment area. Each bloodmobile is staffed with a nurse, phlebotomists, and a driver.
Each MGH Bloodmobile collects an average of 56 units of blood during a six-hour time frame. In using the bloodmobile, we limit the total donation time to just 30 minutes per person. Refreshments are provided for all donors, and in select months our bloodmobile may take part in MGH Blood Donor Center promotions, raffles, and t-shirt giveaways.
To schedule a mobile drive at your organization, please contact Kim Cronin at 617-726-8165. She will be happy to educate your staff, supply marketing materials, and make your drive a fun volunteer experience.
"For over 10 years now, Thayer Academy has been well-served by having the MGH Bloodmobile come to our campus. Our blood drive program is a one day event that enjoys enormous participation which is due in large part to the fulfilling presentation given to our student body prior to Blood Donor Day by the Director of the MGH Blood Donor Program. In addition, it goes without saying that the MGH Bloodmobile staff are a group of most knowledgeable, efficient and supportive people affording time and understanding to our donors" – Marilyn Legg, Assistant to the Headmaster, Thayer Academy
