Migration is increasing locally and globally due to climate change. On our warming planet, the inability to farm, flood-related sea level rise, hurricanes, and wildfires are among the many reasons for the increase in migration of populations. In this Massachusetts General Hospital Blum Center presentation from January 19, 2023, Patrice Nicholas, DNSc, DHL (Hon), MPH, MS, RN, NP-C, FAAN, offers an overview of climate migration patterns and addresses implications for people’s health, locally and worldwide.

The Climate Change and Health Series is a collaboration among the Maxwell & Eleanor Blum Patient and Family Learning Center, the Mass General Center for the Environment and Health, and the MGH Institute of Health Professions Center for Climate Change, Climate Justice, and Health.
