“I’m thrilled to receive this generous award for my lab’s work in the rapid development of novel nanobody-based CARs,” says Dr. Manguso. “With this funding, we hope to accelerate the development of CAR T cells targeting emerging solid tumor antigens so that these live-saving therapies can reach the clinic as quickly as possible.”

The Manguso Lab, based at the Krantz Center and the Broad Institute, endeavors to improve the treatment of cancer using immunotherapy, employing a range of approaches including mouse models, cellular immunology, functional genomics, and single cell profiling to understand how cancers evade the immune system and to identify new targets to enhance immune responses to tumors.
