  • An Innovative Device Grants Kara the Gift of Hearing

    Kara Zerr, 3, was born deaf with no cochlea or auditory nerves. A team of neurosurgeons and otolaryngologists from MGHfC and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary gave Kara an innovative surgical implant called an auditory brainstem implant (ABI) that granted her the gift of hearing.
