In 1998, Howard Weinstein, MD, chief of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at MGHfC, founded the MassGeneral Marathon Team Fighting Kids’ Cancer ... One Step at a Time. This phenomenal team consists of Mass General physicians, nurses and staff, past and present patients, patients’ friends and family members, and accomplished marathon runners—all of whom compete annually in the Boston Marathon to raise essential funds for MGHfC. The Granite State Quest is a bicycle ride across Southern New Hampshire to raise funds for the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Program at MGHfC. To learn more the Granite State Quest, visit the event web page.
Donating blood or platelets is one of the easiest ways to make a difference in a pediatric patient's life. The actual process of giving blood takes approximately 30 minutes and can help as many as three patients. Learn more about the Mass General Blood Donor Center.
