MassGeneral Marathon Team Fighting Kids’ Cancer . . . One Step at a Time
In 1998, Howard Weinstein, MD, chief of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at MGfC, founded the MassGeneral Marathon Team Fighting Kids’ Cancer ... One Step at a Time. This phenomenal team consists of Mass General physicians, nurses and staff, past and present patients, patients’ friends and family members, and accomplished marathon runners—all of whom compete annually in the Boston Marathon to raise essential funds for MGfC. Many runners participate in the marathon in honor of patient partners who are living with a pediatric cancer diagnosis.
