There are two steps you will complete prior to the start of Medically Intensive Nutrition Therapy (MINT®) sessions.
- First, you will have a breathing test done to determine the amount of calories that your body burns at rest.
- Next you will attend an Intro to MINT® session for an overview of the program structure and begin your journey.
You will then be scheduled for 12 consecutive, weekly 60-minute group sessions. Topics will include:
- Self-monitoring
- Healthy Nutrition
- Volumetrics/portions
- Mindful eating
- Grocery shopping and labels
- Dining out
- Time management
- Sleep, stress and environment
- Behavior change
- Meal planning
- Physical activity
- Long-term weight management
You will also be contacted by a personal exercise trainer at the Mass General Clubs at Charles River Park to schedule two individual sessions.
At the end of your 12 weeks, you will be scheduled individually to meet with your Weight Center physician and dietitian to review your progress and start into your transition program.
