Who We Are

Each year, the Mass General Department of Pharmacy recruits the top candidates from schools of pharmacy around the country for the Pharmacy Residency Programs. Our residents come from across the United States and bring diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and training to the department and institution. As do our clinical and administrative pharmacy preceptors, who are specialty trained and experts in their chosen field. All our staff are dedicated to the continual growth and development of our residents and programs.

Boston

As a Mass General resident, you will get to experience the many riches that Boston has to offer. You’ll quicky be able to immerse yourself it its historic charm, lush parks, and plentiful activities beyond pharmacy practice.

Nestled in the iconic Beacon Hill district, the Mass General campus is surrounded by beautiful brownstone architecture and charming brick pathways. Here, your pharmacy education will converge with community, allowing you to contribute to Boston's growing healthcare narrative.

Nearby is the historic Charles Street, which hosts many boutiques and culinary gems. The Charles River Esplanade offers a peaceful escape from the busy city, while Newbury Street is the place to be for luxury shopping and additional exceptional sights and landmarks.

History enthusiasts will relish the Freedom Trail, guiding you through early chapters of America. Explore the Boston Massacre site, Faneuil Hall, Paul The Old North Church, and more—all testaments to Boston's role in shaping the nation.

Across the Charles River is Cambridge, an intellectual hub housing Harvard University and MIT. These institutions inspire innovation and have partnered with MGH in the past to push the boundaries of healthcare education and technology.

PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residents

Emily ButtermoreEmily Buttermore

Dr. Emily Buttermore is from Lakeville, MA. She completed both undergraduate and Doctor of Pharmacy at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston. Her practice interests include oncology, clinical trials, and ambulatory care. In her free time, Emily enjoys traveling and exploring new places around Boston. Emily will be pursuing a PGY-2 position in the field of oncology after the completion of PGY-1.

Sung Jin (Julie) JeongSung Jin (Julie) Jeong

Dr. Sung Jin (Julie) Jeong is from Baltimore, MD. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Her practice interests include critical care, infectious disease, and cardiology. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys traveling, reading, and trying new restaurants. Dr. Jeong plans to pursue a PGY-2 in critical care after completion of the residency year.

Raluca LazaRaluca Laza

Dr. Raluca Laza is originally from Romania and grew up in southeast Michigan. She completed her undergraduate degree in pharmaceutical sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Michigan. Her practice interests include oncology, ambulatory care, and academia. Dr. Laza enjoys running, boxing, baking new recipes, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Laza plans to pursue a PGY-2 in Oncology after the completion of the residency year.

Miranda MoserMiranda Moser

Dr. Miranda Moser is from Morgantown, WV. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from West Virginia University School of Pharmacy. Her practice interests include cardiology, pediatrics, and transplant. In her free time, she enjoys reading, trying new restaurants, attending group fitness classes, and watching the latest Netflix series. Dr. Moser plans to pursue a PGY-2 in a specialty of her interest after completion of the residency year.

Ruchi RanaRuchi Rana

Dr. Ruchi Rana is from Tiffin, OH. She completed her undergraduate at the University of Toledo in Toledo, OH and her Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy in Ann Arbor, MI. Her passion for pharmacy lies within psychiatric pharmacy, which she hopes to attain a PGY-2 in after completion of the residency year. Outside of pharmacy, Dr. Rana enjoys traveling, the arts, and spending time with family and friends.

Katie ReardonKatie Reardon

Dr. Katie Reardon is from Easton, MA. She obtained her undergraduate degree in biochemistry at Trinity College and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Northeastern University. Her practice interests include emergency medicine, critical care, and cardiology. She enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Reardon plans to pursue a PGY-2 in a specialty of her interest after completion of the residency year.

PGY-1/2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residents

Kash BettigaKash Bettiga

Dr. Kash Bettiga is from Jackson, MS. He completed his undergraduate and Doctor of Pharmacy at the University of Mississippi and is completing his Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences with specialization in Health-System Pharmacy Administration through the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. His practice interests include pharmacy operations, clinical pharmacy management, and compliance. Dr. Bettiga enjoys hiking, sports, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Bettiga plans to pursue a career in pharmacy administration in the community hospital setting after completing his PGY-2.

Amelia BarberAmelia Barber

Dr. Amelia Barber is from Peoria, IL. She graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy from Butler University and is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences with specialization in Health System Pharmacy Administration through the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Her practice interests include formulary management and medication use policy, revenue cycle, and pharmacy operations. She enjoys exploring Boston, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Barber plans to continue as a PGY-2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership resident after completing her PGY-1 residency year.

PGY-2 Pharmacy Residents

Cameron Abbey-MottCameron Abbey-Mott - Transplant

Dr. Cameron Abbey-Mott is from Westfield, NY and graduated from D'Youville University School of Pharmacy with her Doctor of Pharmacy. She completed her PGY-1 residency at Albany Medical Center and is the current PGY-2 in solid organ transplant. Her interest in solid organ transplant includes transitions of care, patient education, and management of transplantation complications. She enjoys going to coffee shops, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and is looking forward to exploring Boston! Dr. Abbey-Mott plans to obtain BCTXP certification and pursue a career as a solid organ transplant clinical pharmacy specialist at an academic medical center with the opportunity to participate in precepting after completion of the residency year.

Sloane EnglishSloane English - Emergency Medicine

Dr. Sloane English is from Cheraw, SC. She obtained her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the College of Charleston, her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Colorado, and completed her PGY-1 training at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her practice interests include toxicology and psychiatric emergencies. In her free time, she enjoys attending Pure Barre classes, going to concerts, and spending time with her husband and fur babies. Following completion of the residency year, Dr. English plans to pursue a career as an Emergency Medicine Pharmacist.

Madison KoonsMadison Koons - Emergency Medicine/Critical Care

Dr. Madison Koons is from Buffalo, NY. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy. Her practice interests include emergency medicine and critical care. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, practicing Pilates, and going to the beach. Dr. Koons plans to pursue a career as an Emergency Medicine/Critical Care Pharmacist following the completion of the residency year.

Jacqueline LangeJacqueline Lange - Critical Care

Dr. Jacquelline Lange is from LaPorte, IN. She completed her undergraduate degree at Regis University in Denver, CO and her Doctor of Pharmacy at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. Her practice interests include infectious diseases in the critically ill, neurology, and emergency medicine. Outside of pharmacy, she enjoys spending time with her husband and dog and partaking in outdoor activities including hiking, snowboarding, and rock climbing. After this residency year, she hopes to obtain BCCCP certification and obtain a position as a critical care specialist with opportunities to teach and precept.

Caitlin BenkartCaitlin Benkart - Internal Medicine

Dr. Caitlin Benkart is from Silver Spring, MD. She completed her undergraduate at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA and her Doctor of Pharmacy at University of Maryland, Baltimore. She completed her PGY-1 at Medstar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Her practice interests include transitions of care and patient education. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and trying new restaurants. Dr. Benkart plans to pursue a career as an internal medicine pharmacist with opportunities for precepting learners following completion of her residency.

Selma KajtazovicSelma Kajtazovic - Psychiatry

Dr. Selma Kajtazovic is from Fort Oglethorpe, GA, with much of her family originating from Bosnia and Herzegovina. She completed two years of prerequisite, college course work and earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Georgia. After, she completed her PGY-1 program at Greater Lawrence Family Health Center in Lawrence, MA and is currently a PGY-2 psychiatric pharmacy resident at McLean Hospital in affiliation with Mass General Brigham. Dr. Kajtazovic enjoys casual nights of video games and watching classic films, while also exploring Boston's vibrant music venues. Her practice interests include patients with substance use disorders, mood disorders, and psychiatric pharmacy in ambulatory care settings. Dr. Kajtazovic looks forward to pursuing a career as a psychiatric pharmacist in either the in-patient or ambulatory care setting after completion of the residency year.

Kristin ManleyKristin Manley - Psychiatry

Dr. Kristin Manley is from Tappan, NY. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy and Master's in Health Services Administration at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Manley completed her PGY-1 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Her practice interests include psychiatry and administration. Dr. Manley enjoys traveling, college football, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Manley will be continuing as a PGY-2 psychiatric pharmacy resident at McLean Hospital.

Kene AniagbosoKene Aniagboso - Oncology

Dr. Kene Aniagboso is from Boston, MA. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy education at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in the Boston campus in 2022. She then completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in 2023. Dr. Aniagboso is currently completing her PGY-2 pharmacy residency in oncology. Her current practice interests include lymphoma, leukemia, and gynecology oncology. Dr. Aniagboso enjoys painting, hiking, shopping, and trying new restaurants.

Kaleem AnwarKaleem Anwar - Oncology

Dr. Kaleem Anwar is born and raised in Sacramento, CA. He obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) prior to completing his PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency program at University of California, Irvine (UCI) Health. His practice interests include academia, supportive cancer care, acute hematologic malignancies, and CAR-T Cellular Therapy. In his free time, he enjoys sports, cooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Anwar plans to pursue a career as a hematology/oncology clinical specialist at an academic medical center with the opportunity to hold an academic appointment after completing his residency year.
