Bethany (she/her/hers) has been practicing as a clinical social worker in communities in Connecticut, Washington DC, Indiana, Colorado and now in the greater Boston area. Bethany has worked as a community based mental health clinician, homebased geriatric social worker, and as a hospital based critical care clinical social worker. Bethany joined the Division in 2022 and is a Clinical Social Worker on the Palliative Care consult service at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). In addition to this role, Bethany serves as the Bereavement Coordinator for the Division of Palliative Care and Geriatric Medicine at MGH and the Social Work and Spiritual Care Lead. Bethany is interprofessional faculty through the Center for Palliative Care at Harvard Medical School, teaching as part of the Practical Aspects of Palliative Care and Palliative Care Education and Practice courses. She has completed the Certificate in Palliative and End-of-Life Care at Smith College School for Social Work and is certified as an Advanced Palliative and Hospice Social Worker. Bethany received her Master of Social Work from the University of Connecticut, specializing in Community Organizing and macro level social work. She also completed a Master of Divinity at Yale University and is ordained in the Episcopal Church. Bethany is passionate about supporting patients and their families experiencing serious illness.
