Sarah Mettasophia (she/her) has been a staff chaplain in the Division of Palliative Care and Geriatric Medicine since 2023. Sarah earned her Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Political Science from Rutgers University, and her Master of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School in 2015, with concentrations in Buddhism and Christianity. She completed her clinical training at Beverly Hospital in Beverly, MA and Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC. In 2023, she completed meditation teacher training through The Awareness Training Institute and Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkeley, and is a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher. Prior to coming to MGH, Sarah was a staff chaplain for Beacon Hospice in East Providence, RI and in Beverly, MA, where she also served as bereavement coordinator.
