Overview
This is a one-year, full-time, adult nurse practitioner (NP) fellowship as part of an inter-professional training opportunity in palliative care. The NP fellow will train with physicians, social workers, pharmacists, and other nurse practitioners in the Harvard Inter-professional Palliative Care Fellowship Program during the academic year that begins July 1st.
The NP fellow will be fully integrated into one of the nation’s oldest academic palliative care services, which includes an inter-professional inpatient consult team, outpatient clinic, and home-based program with additional training in hospice provided off-site. The fellowship offers an extensive medical, psychosocial, and communication curriculum taught by experienced and committed clinician-educators who are recognized nationally as experts in the field.
This NP fellowship has been designed to align with the Standards for Clinical Practicum in Palliative Nursing for Practicing Professional Nurses (HPNA, 2006) and the Hospice and Palliative Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice (ANA, 2007).
How to Apply
- The ideal candidate has experience as an advanced practice nurse, aspiration to a career in palliative care nursing, or plans to integrate palliative care principles into existing practice with the adult patient.
- Applicants must have a Masters or Doctorate of Nursing Practice and be licensed in Massachusetts before beginning the fellowship.
This position is salaried with full-time benefits. For more information about the fellowship, please visit the Harvard Inter-professional Palliative Care Fellowship at https://pallcare.hms.harvard.edu/clinical-fellowships/nurse-practitioner-fellowships.
