We come here together to treasure the memories of our loved ones. In times of silence and distress, their memories bring us new hope and courage in our journey towards the future. In times of search and adjustment, their memories bring comfort and strength.

Each year in spring and autumn the Palliative Care holds a memorial service in the Massachusetts General Hospital chapel. This offers an opportunity to reconnect with patients' family members and friends and offers an opportunity for the team to honor the patients they have served.

Palliative Care team members participate in the service, which is composed of readings and prayers that reflect a wide range of traditions, and a reading of the patients' names and candle lighting. Marcia Guntzel Feldman provides musical accompaniment. A reception is held in the Chapel foyer immediately following the service.

The team welcomes and encourages all Mass General staff members to attend memorial services.
