The Sean M. Healey & AMG Center for ALS at Massachusetts General Hospital today announced its inaugural 2021 Inspiration Award recipient, Sandy Morris. Sandy has been an invaluable part of the Healey Center and ongoing HEALEY ALS Platform Trial since inception. Her commitment and dedication to ALS patients, their caregivers and families are the inspiration for this award, which will be presented annually during the month of May, ALS Awareness Month.

The Healey Inspiration Award honors and acknowledges people with ALS or their caregivers who have offered their time, wisdom, and inspiration in the pursuit to finding cures for ALS. “Sandy has dedicated her time and wisdom to the HEALEY ALS Platform Trial Patient Advisory Committee, a group which meets on a quarterly basis and provides advice and feedback on trial design, recruitment, and retention as well as overall communication efforts between the trial teams, ALS patients and caregivers. The HEALEY ALS Platform Trial would not be possible without the involvement and commitment of the ALS patient community. We are so thankful for Sandy’s commitment and participation,” said Merit Cudkowicz, MD, MSc, Director of the Healey Center for ALS.

A call for nominations will be shared in early 2022 for next year’s recipient.
