sALSa for a Cure Teams Walk, Run to Raise Money for ALS Research
A team from sALSa for a Cure joined the ALSA Walk to Defeat ALS in Westport, CT on October 19 and supported team member Kristen Vaughan in the 2019 New York City Marathon on November 3, both to raise money for ALS research at Mass General.
sALSa for a Cure was started by friends and colleagues of Mastercard executive Margot Vaughan, diagnosed with ALS in 2016. Their first fundraisers were a series of salsa dancing parties, and they have continued with all kinds of events over the past three years. To date, they have raised nearly $200,000 for research, over $13,000 of it from this year's marathon alone.
