Congratulations to the following alumni on the birth of their baby girls:

Dr. Walter Guralnick's Potrait in OMFS Clinic
Dr. Guralnick's potrait has been hung in the OMFS Clinic on Wang 230 on November 1, 2017, on what would have been his 101th birthday.
This painting has inspired by Dr. Mark L. Gylman and Dr. Eric D. Swanson to make a donation to comission a portrait of Dr. Dean Bruce Donoff, which is currently being painted by artist Warren Prosperi.
Remembering Dr. Guralnick
At 100 years old, Dr. Walter Guralnick passed away on September 6, 2017. He was retired from performing oral surgery, but he mentored many faculty members and students at Mass General. He also changed dental history in Massachusetts and across the country.

At 100 years old, Dr. Walter Guralnick has stepped out of the operating room, but is still an active member of the Mass General Hospital Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He recently managed to slow down for an interview about his life and career.

Dr. Guralnick turned 100 this year and after a century of world progress and personal achievements, he remains an active member at Mass General, where he has worked for 65 years.
OMFS welcomes Dr. Somi Kim
Dr. Kim covers the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. She is fluent in Korean and practices at the Mass General Boston campus and at the Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care.

Dr. Troulis named chief of service
We are pleased to announce that Maria J. Troulis, DDS, MSc, has been named the next chief of OMFS. She will also serve as the next Walter C. Guralnick Professor and chair of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM).
