Jenna Galloway, PhD, Director of the Musculoskeletal Genetics & Developmental Biology Laboratory (MGDBL) in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, recently was selected for a 2021 Stepping Strong Center Innovator Award from Brigham Health for her research "harnessing single cell RNA-sequencing technology for tendon regenerative medicine strategies."

Dr. Galloway received her B.A. in Biology from Johns Hopkins University and her Ph.D. in Genetics from Harvard University. Her Lab is committed to expanding the molecular understanding of the musculoskeletal system and uses multiple model systems to understand how tendons and ligaments form, organize, and regenerate with the ultimate goal of applying this knowledge towards the development of improved therapies for tendon and ligament injuries in humans.

According to The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation, the Stepping Strong Center Innovator Awards program supports "groundbreaking projects that address well-defined clinical problems in areas including bone, wound, and skin healing; limb transplant and reconstruction; bone and muscle regeneration; advanced stem cell technology; orthopaedic and plastic surgery; bioengineering, emergency preparedness and injury prevention."
