Dr. Mitchel Harris recognized by Harvard Medical School for excellence in mentoring

Mitchel B. Harris, MD, chief of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Areej El-Jawahri, MD, director of the Bone Marrow Transplant Survivorship Program in the Cancer Center, have each received an A. Clifford Barger Excellence in Mentoring Award from Harvard Medical School (HMS). The award – one of HMS’s three Excellence in Mentoring Awards – honors memory of Dr. A. Clifford Barger who, among other things, devoted his career to bringing out the best in those who studied, trained and worked at HMS.
