Jesse B. Jupiter, MD, a surgeon in the Hand & Arm Center in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, has been honored as the First Distinguished Alumnus of the Harvard Combined Orthopedic Residency Program.
He was recognized for changing the field of orthopedic trauma and hand surgery seismically. He was a pioneer in the treatment of fractures and he developed new technologies which are used today. Jupiter has taught generations of surgeons in Boston, the U.S. and across the world. Jupiter also gave the prestigious B.B. Joshi Memorial Lecture at the 42nd annual Indian Hand Society and presented the third annual Mark R. Belsky lecture at the Newton Wellesley Hospital.
