Spinal precautions following spine surgery

Following spine surgery, there are certain precautions to aide in your healing. These precautions include: No bending, lifting > 5 lbs, twisting for 6 weeks after surgery. It is helpful to avoid laying or sitting in one position for more than 30-40 minutes at a time. Mobility and frequent repositioning helps to decreasing pain. Incorporate these precautions into all mobility after surgery, including getting out of bed, as you resume your daily activities.
