The Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Surgery offers advanced clerkships in general surgery and its subspecialties, intended for students who are interested in a career in surgery and have completed their core clerkship in surgery.
Thoracic Surgery Education and Training
The goal of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Residency Program is to verse residents in all the contemporary aspects of both cardiac and thoracic surgery. Our graduates are equipped with training and experience to commence practice in either or both fields.
The Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Surgery's Surgical Residency Program offers extensive clinical training and research opportunities.
Most medical students have limited awareness of the specialty of Thoracic Surgery by the time they are deciding on their residency. The Massachusetts General Hospital Division of Thoracic Surgery Service Summer Scholars Program is a long-running program designed to provide significant exposure to this specialty.
Fellowships, Residencies & Other Opportunities
Mass General offers specialized residencies and fellowships in each of our multidisciplinary care centers and clinical departments, as well as observerships, clerkships and continuing medical education.
