About Lauren Murray Bear, MS, CGC

Ms. Bear is a senior genetic counselor at Massachusetts General Hospital, and joined the Center for Cancer Risk Assessment in 2014. She graduated from Trinity College in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and worked for several years in research laboratories at Tufts Medical Center and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. In 2014, she earned her master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from Brandeis University. As part of the CCRA, Ms. Bear serves as the lead genetic counselor in the Familial Renal Cell Carcinoma & Von Hippel-Lindau Disease Program, where she also participates in multiple research studies aimed at advancing our understanding of hereditary renal cell carcinoma syndromes. She also co-founded the Hereditary Hematologic Malignancy Genetics Program, and provides risk assessment and genetic counseling services in the Breast and Ovarian Cancer Genetics Program and Gastrointestinal Cancer Genetics Program.
