About Melany Cruz, MS, CGC

Melany Cruz joined the Center for Cancer Risk Assessment in 2021. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology from Marist College and worked in special education as a paraprofessional for 2 years before beginning graduate school. She earned her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from the MGH Institute of Health Professions. At the CCRA, Ms. Cruz provides risk assessment and genetic counseling services in both the Breast and Ovarian Cancer Genetics Program and Gastrointestinal Cancer Genetics Program. In addition, Ms. Cruz sees patients in the Endocrine Tumor Genetics Program. Outside of clinic, she is involved in research and in educating high school students and undergraduate students about the genetic counseling field.
