Congratulations and welcome to Massachusetts General Hospital! Before you begin your new job, you will need to complete the following steps.

  • Step 1: Review instructions for completing New Employee Orientation
    • In the week prior to your start date, you will receive an email from the MGH New Hire Coordinator with information about the online Mass General New Employee Orientation.
    • Please note: The online New Employee Orientation modules can only be accessed with a desktop or laptop computer. They cannot be accessed on any other mobile devices, such as smart phones or tablets. If you think you will have difficulty completing the online orientation, please contact your recruiter ASAP for assistance.
  • Step 2: Schedule an Occupational Health appointment
    • Once you are entered into our Human Resources Information System (PeopleSoft), you will receive a call from Occupational Health Services to schedule a date and time for your new hire pre-placement screening.
    • If you are not contacted by Occupational Health Services prior to your start date, you should call their office at 617-726-2217 to arrange a screening. The Occupational Health screening is required for all new employees.
  • Step 3: Contact your manager
    • Contact your manager to confirm your work schedule. If you don’t know your manager’s name, contact your recruiter. Your recruiter’s name and phone number can be found on your offer letter.
  • Step 4: Complete the I-9 form in HireRight
    • The federal government requires that you complete the Federal I-9 form by the Thursday of your first week. You will receive an e-mail from HireRight Customer Support with instructions for completing the I-9 form and an email from the New Hire Coordinator with instructions for presenting your original supporting I-9 documents.
