For many patients, a pelvic ultrsound has clinical benefits by adding 3D views.
In some studies that compare routine 2D pelvic ultrasound with 3D pelvic ultrasound, the additional 3D views are associated with a higher level of accuracy and a clearer, more accurate view.
- Research published in Ultrasonography suggests that 3D ultrasound is more useful than 2D technology at pinpointing the location of fibroid tumors and endometrial polyps in some patients.
