Care During COVID-19
Our dedicated physicians, nurses and staff are committed to providing the best possible care for children. We have taken unprecedented steps to ensure office visits and procedures are welcoming and safe. Your child’s health and safety is our top priority. Learn more.
Our radiologists (the doctors reading your child’s images), advanced practice providers, nurses, child life specialists, technologists and care coordinators look for every opportunity to understand and help patients and their families during the imaging process. From the moment your child arrives, we work hard to make the imaging process as comfortable as possible and aim to ease anxiety by providing child-friendly descriptions of what to expect. In many cases, this special attention can reduce or eliminate the need for sedation. Learn more about our staff.

An ultrasound is a test that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of internal organs such as the abdomen, liver, pelvis or blood vessels. We offer ultrasound imaging for pediatric patients at Mass General Imaging in Boston on White 2 and Waltham. For patients ages 16 to 18 years old, we also offer ultrasound exams at the Chelsea HealthCare Center and for patients 18 years and older, we offer ultrasound imaging in Danvers as well.
A CT (computed tomography) scan is a test using special X-ray equipment to take detailed images of inside the body. We offer CT imaging services for pediatric patients in Boston on Blake 2 and the Waltham location. Patients ages 16 to 18 years old can have CT imaging in Boston on Blake 2 or Yawkey 6, in Chelsea, Danvers or Waltham.
An MRI is a test that uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to take detailed images of organs and tissues. An MRI does not use radiation. Sometimes, an MRI exam requires contrast to help the radiologists see the images more clearly. We offer MRI imaging for pediatric patients at Mass General Imaging in Boston on Ellison 2, Chelsea, Danvers and Waltham.
We offer fluoroscopy imaging services for patients ages newborn to 18 years old at Mass General Imaging in Boston on Ellison 2 and in Waltham. Fluoroscopy exams vary by site.

A bone densitometry exam helps physicians diagnose and track the treatment of osteoporosis or other conditions that cause bone loss. We offer this exam for pediatric patients ages newborn to 18 years old at Mass General Imaging – Waltham.
A PET-CT combines 2 types of imaging exams, PET (positron emission tomography) and CT (computed tomography) to find changes in the body at different stages of a disease. We offer PET-CT imaging for pediatric patients ages newborn to 18 years old at Mass General Imaging in Boston on Blake 2.
