Congratulations to the Mass General community on earning Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) for the fourth, consecutive time. Donna Havens, RN, chair of the ANCC Commission on Magnet Recognition, shared the great news in a phone call to chief nurse Debbie Burke, RN, DNP, and chief nurse emerita Jeanette Ives Erickson, RN, DNP, before an audience in O’Keeffe Auditorium today. In 2003, Mass General became the first hospital in Massachusetts to earn Magnet Recognition from the ANCC. The four-year designation is considered the “gold standard” of nursing excellence.
