Whatever your favorite barbecue style may be, Eat Street Café will be serving up an assortment of southern delicacies Aug. 15 at the inaugural MGH BBQ Fest. The eatery also will feature tasty sides, including fresh baked jalapeño corn bread, macaroni and cheese, and peach cobbler.
“Like most MGHers, we are trying to savor these last few weeks of summer,” says Latoya Brewster, retail operations manager in Nutrition and Food Services. “We began thinking of different ways to engage customers and get employees excited as a fun midsummer pick-me-up. In that spirit we decided to feast on all things barbecue.”
From 11 am – 3 pm, visitors can enjoy fun facts about the different styles of barbecue at each Eat Street station. Along with delicious food and facts, there also will be costumes, trivia and prizes – with the help of My Giving Helps, an MGH Fund + United Way employee campaign that gives back to the hospital community. “We’ll be giving away sports bars and letting customers test their luck on our trivia wheel,” Brewster says. “We are calling on everyone to join in the fun. It’s going to be a wonderful, delicious event.”
