About Esteban Franco Garcia, MD
Dr. Esteban Franco-Garcia is a Geriatric Medicine physician at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, he earned his medical degree from the Universidad El Bosque. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College, where he also served as chief resident. He then pursued a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Mass General.
Dr. Franco-Garcia specializes in the care of hospitalized older adults, particularly those undergoing surgical treatments. His expertise includes managing older patients with orthopedic trauma, focusing on improving recovery and overall health after fractures. As the Director of Inpatient Geriatric Services at MGH, he oversees programs such as the Geriatric Inpatient Fracture Service (GIFTS) and the Inpatient Geriatric Resource and Clinician Evaluation (IGRACE).
