About Stephen Schnoor, PT, DPT

Dr. Stephen Schnoor is a central Pennsylvania native who received his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware, where he majored in Kinesiology and Applied Physiology and minored in Strength and Conditioning. Upon graduation, he earned his associates in Applied Science from Central Penn College in Summerdale, PA and was licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant. During this time, he also became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He went on to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Lynchburg in Lynchburg, VA in 2022, and was honored with the Academic Excellence Award. During his time at the University of Lynchburg, he served as the class APTA/APTA VA Representative and the Assessment Chair for Wheels on the James, an organization working to provide adaptive tricycles to individuals with disabilities.

Upon graduating, Stephen moved to Glen Allen, VA, where he worked at Progress Physical Therapy, a private practice specializing in sports and orthopedic physical therapy. While in Richmond he also spent time with the sports medicine staff at Randolph Macon College. In 2025, he moved to Cambridge, MA and is now one of the sports physical therapy residents practicing at Mass General and Northeastern University.

Stephen participated in a variety of sports growing up including ice hockey, lacrosse, martial arts, fencing and skiing. In his free-time he primarily enjoys staying active by lifting weights, playing ice hockey, skiing and going for walks with his wife and dog. He believes in a growth mindset and that each day should be viewed as an opportunity for improvement.

Stephen is passionate about evidence-informed practice and promoting fitness and an active lifestyle for individuals of all ages. His primary clinical interests include integrating physical therapy with strength and conditioning to optimize recovery and successful return to performance following injury. His goal for all of his patients is to optimize their quality of life by providing patient-centered care guided by best available evidence to help them meet their goals.
