Explore Sports Physical Therapy
Mass General Brigham leads the nation in sports medicine research, technology and innovation. Whether you’re a collegiate athlete, a weekend warrior, or just committed to living an active lifestyle, our experts will help you safely and quickly return to the sports and activities you love. Sports conditioning and injury rehabilitation are key components of our comprehensive sports medicine offerings.
The Sports Physical Therapy Service is a joint venture from Mass General’s Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery and Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation and is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, athletic trainers and access coordinators all committed to returning athletes to their highest level of activity possible. With decades of experience working with some of the most elite scholastic, collegiate and professional athletes in the country, we offer unique, essential care to local athletes.
The Sports Physical Therapy Service has convenient, dedicated facilities on the Boston and Waltham campuses of Mass General to provide the private, custom care you need. We gladly accept referrals and work closely with physicians both inside and outside of the Mass General Brigham system to provide the best rehabilitation programs possible for our patients.
Where We Excel
- Rehabilitation: Our therapists collaborate with athletes to develop custom pre-operative, post-operative, and non-operative rehabilitation and conditioning programs.
- Performance: Our entire team regularly meets to evaluate patients, discuss cases and recommend performance enhancement strategies to our athletes.
- Research & Development: We are constantly gathering data and testing new protocols to advance the field of sports science.
