About Our Program
As part of the Addiction Recovery Management Service, Massachusetts General Hospital offers treatment for teenagers and young adults aged 13-26 struggling with gaming disorder, gambling disorder, and overuse of digital technology.
Our program is led by Kyle Faust, PhD, a clinical psychologist trained at reSTART, the first U.S. treatment center dedicated to gaming disorder. Patients benefit from evidence-based therapies tailored to their specific needs.
Our Approach
- Comprehensive Assessment: Every patient undergoes an initial assessment to evaluate the severity of their symptoms.
- Tailored Therapy: We provide cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) customized for gaming disorder, overuse of digital technology, or gambling disorder.
- Co-occurring Conditions: Our treatments can be adapted for patients with co-occurring conditions like major depressive disorder and anxiety disorders.
- Motivational Interviewing: For those less motivated to seek treatment, we offer motivational interviewing to help them engage in the recovery process.
- Referrals: If a higher level of care is needed, we provide referrals for additional treatment.
Our goal is to help young people regain control of their lives and develop healthier relationships with technology.
