Have you received or are you currently receiving pelvic radiation? Are you concerned about how your cancer diagnosis may be affecting your sexual health? Interventions offered by the Radiation Oncology Female Sexual Health Clinic may be able to help.
A cancer diagnosis can affect all aspects of a patient’s normal functioning and unfortunately, sexual health is often not an area of focus during treatment. There can be long term implications for one’s ability to resume normal sexual function following the completion of cancer treatment. Our objective is to help you maintain or reconnect with your sexual being after cancer.
Currently, the Massachusetts General Hospital Radiation Oncology Female Sexual Health Clinic is a resource for female patients who have received or are currently receiving pelvic radiation. If you do not meet the mentioned criteria, please ask your provider for more information and we can work to meet your needs. We do hope to be able to expand our services and accept more patients in the near future.
Appointments are available on Mondays, Tuesday afternoons, Wednesdays, and Thursday mornings.
The clinic is a nurse practitioner-run program, and consists of a minimum of three visits. The goal is to meet with patients prior to the start of treatment, at the end of treatment, and 6-8 weeks following treatment completion. Further follow-up visits can also be arranged.
